Second one only accommodates 250 uL tubes, with one side designed from a smaller liquid volume (50 uL or less), the other side is for a larger liquid volume. Tested before shipping. Cold block made for 1.5-2 mL tubes, sometimes referred to as «Eppendorf tubes.» Fits 81 tubes. It is made in the same form factor as a standard 81-wells cryo-storage box that fits in a standard freezer hotel. Use it either for the experiments that require chilled conditions or for enzyme storage.Normally, if you store your enzymes in a cardboard or plastic box, the enzyme solutions may thaw when you take the box out of the freezer for a few minutes (for example, when you need a few minutes to find the right tube). Sometimes, the enzymes may thaw if you keep the freezer door open for a prolonged time. This creates an unintended freeze-thaw cycle, and as a result, the enzymes may lose their activity.It will not happen if you store your enzymes in this metal rack.
